Om Siri

Siri Fredheim Sørensen completed her medical studies at University of Southern Denmark in 2006. Siri has been practicing pediatric medicine at different pediatric wards in Denmark, most recently Rigshospitalet, Herlev Hospital, Roskilde Hospital og Slagelse Hospital. She has experience from intensive medicine, Hvidovre Hospital, and general medicine in Alta, Norge.

Siri is an experienced researcher, and her focus of interest has been complications to type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents. She has several international publications and is currently an expert reviewer in various medical journals. Siri was recognized with a Ph.D. at University of Copenhagen in 2015.  

Her premedical accomplishments include a bachelor in molecular biology from Texas Lutheran University, Seguin, Texas. Her interest in foreign health care systems, led her to Venezuela og Cuba where she worked in the intensive care unit and gynecology ward. 

Siri is born in Bergen, Norway, where she grew up with her loving family. She is married to Lars, and the family including their son are living in Copenhagen. Her time outside work, is spent in their summer cottage, where she enjoys the garden, strolls by the sea or exploring the woods. During the dark winter days the family enjoy skiing in Norway.
